HONOLULU, HI (Dec. 13, 2024) – Central Pacific Bank (CPB) concluded its Contactless Debit Card promotion today with a grand prize event by awarding a brand new 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport to a lucky participant. Three finalists were selected at random out of more than 2.24 million entries. Finalists met at Central Pacific Plaza in downtown Honolulu and each was given a key, but only one of them was the actual key that unlocked the vehicle, making that finalist the grand prize winner!
CPB is happy to announce the winner of the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport, valued at $43,400, is James Tripp, 75, who has been a CPB customer for more than 20 years! James currently lives in the Kahala area, but is moving to Wahiawa to open a new farm.
“We're beyond excited to award the brand-new Toyota Tacoma to our long-time customer James Tripp,” said Central Pacific Bank Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Brandt Farias. “Our Go Contactless! initiative continues to be a valuable tool for informing our customers about the convenience and benefits of tap-to-pay technology, while also providing exciting prizes that people love!”
“I’ve lost a lot of sleep in the last few months wondering what I’m going to do with my life and this is definitely life changing. There are people in the world who deserve to win, and my friends kept telling me I was one of them. This truck is a well needed piece of equipment I’m going to need for my farm,” said James Tripp, CPB Go Contactless Debit Card grand prize winner. “If anybody is reading this and they think things are just really bad and not going to get any better, there is a silver lining in every cloud and a light at the end of every tunnel, and the universe takes care of us. Just keep on trucking.”
Each of the two remaining finalists received $1,000.
+CPB also awarded weekly winners throughout the campaign, which began on Sept. 16 and concluded Nov. 22, 2024, with the following prizes that have a total combined value of more than $8,000:
