New relief programs opening soon
The American Rescue Plan was recently passed to help change the course of the pandemic and deliver immediate and direct relief to families and workers impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
There are two upcoming titles under the plan designed to help small businesses. The SBA is administering and disbursing funds for these new relief programs that are being made available, such as the Shuttered Venue Operations Grant (SVOG) slated to open on April 8.
For information about SVOG and other relief programs coming soon, visit cpb.bank/ppp.
Apply for a PPP by May 31
The PPP Extension Act of 2021 has extended the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) application deadline to May 31, or whenever the current funding runs out, whichever is sooner.
The extension provides more time to apply, especially for small businesses that still need financial help, and aims to reach the smallest of businesses, particularly those that are women- and minority-owned.
For more information and to apply, visit cpb.bank/ppp.
Pandemic Education Program free for nonprofits
Free training is being made available by the Hawaii State Bar Foundation to help nonprofit organizations interpret grant, safety and other compliance responsibilities flowing from federal pandemic relief and to guide them through general operations during the pandemic.
