Central Pacific Bank Collected More Than $159,000 in Monetary and Gift Donations for the Angel Tree Program

The Salvation Army – Hawaiian & Pacific Islands today announced that $865,655 was raised across Hawaii and the Pacific Islands via their annual Red Kettle campaign and more than 39,000 Angel Tree gifts were distributed during the 2015 holiday season.

In addition, Central Pacific Bank collected more than $159,000 in monetary and gift donations for the Angel Tree program. And, Burger King Hawaii, in partnership with Aloha United Way, collected more than $14,000 in monetary donations to support the keiki portion of the program.

“We are grateful to the many Hawaii residents and visitors that supported those in need across our islands last holiday season,” said Major John Chamness, Divisional Leader for The Salvation Army – Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division. “The monetary donations in our Red Kettles allow our much-needed social service programs to continue and can expand this year. And, the generous monetary, gift and in-kind donations to our Angle Tree program meant that there were many smiles on Christmas morning across the state.”

In recapping the 2015 holiday season, Major Chamness continued, “In particular, we’d like to thank our longtime Red Kettle partners including Longs Drugs/CVS and Walmart and many other local retailers for providing space for our bell ringers. In addition, we’re grateful for Angel Tree support by Central Pacific Bank and their providing in-branch tree sites, Burger King Hawaii/Aloha United Way and their register donations, Select Income REIT for their warehouse and office space donation in Honolulu, and the many angel trees set up at many major malls and retailers around the state.”
