HONOLULU, HI November 1, 2013 – Central Pacific Bank employees volunteered to help Hawaii 3Rs with a beautification project at Ilima Elementary School in Ewa Beach. The group of about 25 CPB volunteers spent their Saturday helping to plant grass, shrubs and flowers.

“On behalf of Ilima Intermediate, we would like to thank all of the Central Pacific Bank employees who gave up their Saturday to sweat and toil in the dirt,” says Jon Henry Lee, principal at Ilima Intermediate School. “The job they did will help to ensure we have an aesthetically appealing campus that our kids and community can be proud of.”

With the oversight and instruction of Takenaka Landscaping, the volunteers cut the sod into small squares and then plugged the new sod to cover the entire front section of the campus. The group also planted shrubs and flowers along the fence line.
