457 Rice Cookers Donated To Seniors

Central Pacific Bank (CPB) is donating 457 new rice cookers to seniors as part of the Salvation Army’s holiday Angel Tree program. The rice cookers will be presented to the seniors in the Adult Day Health Services (ADHS) at Kauluwela Mission Corps Community Center (296 N. Vineyard Blvd.) at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15.

This year, all 34 CPB branches statewide are helping The Salvation Army to collect gifts and monetary donations for the nonprofit’s annual Angel Tree program that provides holiday gifts to Hawaii children and seniors from underprivileged families in need.

“Central Pacific Bank’s partnership with our Angel Tree program has been wonderful,” said Major Jonnette Mulch, the Honolulu Area Corps Officer for The Salvation Army. “This generous donation will answer the wishes of many Hawaii residents because a rice cooker is the most requested gift item from seniors in the Angel Tree program.”

The rice cookers will be distributed to seniors throughout the state in the Salvation Army’s Adult Day Health Services program. ADHS is a daytime program administered by The Salvation Army that provides a multidisciplinary approach to caring for frail or disabled older adults.
