HONOLULU, HI (Dec. 5, 2025) – Central Pacific Bank (CPB) celebrated the conclusion of its debit card promotion with a grand prize event held the evening of Dec. 4, 2025, with 50 lucky participants being awarded fabulous prizes.

The party was held at CPB’s Main Branch in Downtown Honolulu on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025. Out of more than 2.44 million total entries, 50 were randomly selected as semi-finalists and invited to the grand prize event. Three of the 50 people became finalists who were then given a key fob, but only one worked to unlock the car.

The person holding the correct key and winner of the new 2025 Toyota 4-Runner valued at $43,400 was Darryl Pang, 65, from Kalihi Valley. Pang says he’s never considered himself lucky, but since retiring from his property management job last year, his life has been better. He added that winning a new car has changed his whole outlook on life and couldn’t have come at a better time.

“Our old car just died. We were so limited because we couldn’t drive in traffic because our car would overheat and die, so now we can drive anywhere whenever we want!” said Darryl Pang. “This is something very life-changing for us. Thanks CPB for everything — you got a customer for life!”

“I am so excited! This is so unbelievable,” said Cardine Pang, Darryl’s wife, who accompanied him to the event. “There were so many people here I thought, what are the chances of winning? But I hugged and kissed him anyway and said, ‘good luck!’ I still can’t believe he won!”

“It is always so much fun to see the expression and emotion on the face of the grand prize winner. We are thrilled to award the car to Mr. Pang and to learn how winning a prize as valuable as this can improve their life,” said Brandt Farias, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Central Pacific Bank. “CPB is known for its exceptional customer service, and this promotion was another way of showing our customers how much they mean to us.”

Each of the two remaining finalists received $1,000 in cash. The 47 additional semi-finalists won $50 gift cards. They also enjoyed a fun-filled party with food, drinks, games, and additional prizes.

In total, more than $55,000 worth of prizes were given away to CPB customers as part of the promotion.
